This was a gift under the Christmas tree and was a huge hit. My kids have not lost interest in this gumball machine like some other toys and really like turning the crank to get the gumball (much more fun than just an ordinary piece of sugar-free gum). The gumball machine was just like you described. My son and a friend put the gumballs (which I also ordered from gumballs.com) into the machine and set it to free spin so you could turn handle and one gumball would come out. I like the fact you could set it for coins also and for more gumballs to come out. My husband loved it too. It was a Christmas gift. It is sitting next to the TV so they all can help themselves.
