How Can I Use .92 Inch 1080 Count Gumballs?
1080-per-case gumballs are useful in many of the exact same situations as 1" gumballs. At 8% smaller than the 1" gumballs, they are still a sweet interlude even if they are not quite as large as a standard gumball. Being nearly almost 1" in diameter, they work well in most machines equipped with a gumball wheel.
The exceptions to this rule are the spiral machines, which have tolerances tight enough that a spiral machine that normally vends 1" gumballs will not function very well with the .92" gumballs. To make a spiral machine compatible with .92" gumballs requires a new dispensing wheel and related hardware. So, for spiral machines, it's best to stick with 1" gumballs unless you know for sure that particular machine was designed to vend .92" gumballs.
Spiral machines aside, however, the .92" gumballs are a wonderful way to extend profits in other table top machines such as the Classic gumball machine. By using a slightly smaller gumball, the average cost per gumball stays around 5 or 6 cents, the selling price stays at a quarter, but with 230 more gumballs in a fully-sold case, profits grow accordingly.
