This collection of realistically shaped hedgehog figurines in 5 lovely colors (blue, brown, green, purple, and red) will appeal to a variety of people. All of the animals have endearing button eyes and noses (not real buttons, but "button eyes" as a figure of speech), and a pink body underneath the colorful coat. The inside of the ears is highlighted in a realistic pink. Each piece is diminutive, about 1" in size, and we describe it as firm, not squishy, for example, like the penguins.

Hedgehogs in the wild are mostly nocturnal and rarely seen. These hedgehog figurines are about the closest thing to a hedgehog most people will see. The name is derived from the tendency to live under the protection of hedges, and the fact that the shape of their snouts is remarkably porcine (hog-like). Instead of staying up at night looking at the bushes to catch a glimpse of one of these elusive creatures, just get a figurine from the vending machine for a few quarters, and let the real hedgehogs undisturbed. Due to the small size of each piece, this toy is not recommended for ages 3 and under due to choking hazard.
