While there are Brazil Nut plantations, Brazil nuts are most effectively harvested through gathering methods inside of the rain forest without damaging the trees or the surrounding vegetation. Brazil nut trees can grow to be 160 feet tall with 6 foot trunks at the base and typically have not branches until about half way up the trunk (80 feet in the air), so the best way to collect Brazil nuts is to let the fruit fall on its own and then collect the fruit and harvest the nuts that grow in the center.
