Squishy Axolotl Toys are named for the Aztec god of fire and lightning's  salamander incarnation. The salamander in nature does not undergo metamorphosis, thus making for a forever cute baby face. These toys depict the salamander form and they are faintly squishy with minor "give" upon squeezing, thus much hardier than the aquatic version.
